Rachawong Shark Fin

Comment: Superb Chinese dishes such as crystal prawn salad, goose soup, Peking duck and other delicacies. Expensive, up market and super popular with oddly wealthy policemen, but we can’t in good conscious recommend it because it specializes in shark’s fin soup-which we all know is VERY non PC.

Shanghai Restaurant

Comment: This new restaurant is the latest creation of a successful business tycoon, Mr. Wong, who is in the process of introducing the irresistible, scrumptious tastes of Shanghai cuisine to Chiang Mai. Set inside the China Town project, at the Khuang Singh intersection, the restaurant is modeled on a typical Shanghai teahouse with a small pond at the front and a large capacity to house at least one hundred customers. All dishes are reasonably priced – a bowl of seasoned pork legs costs just B120, Shanghai noodles starts from just B35.

Sunflower

Comment: On the 24th floor of Centara Duang Tawan Hotel, you can take in a spectacular birds eye panorama of Doi Suthep and Chiang Mai city while dining on fine Chinese cuisine in an elegant atmosphere. Sunflower Chinese Restaurant recommends their smorgasbord of dim sum buffet at 310++ baht per person. So grab friends, reserve a big table and experience Chinese Dim Sum the proper way.

Yangzi Jiang

Comment: For fabulous Chinese food, look no further than Yangzi Jiang: this recently opened restaurant is set to join the ranks of Chiang Mai's finest eateries. Located in an elegant old home just off Nimmanhaemin Road, Yangzi Jiang offers superb, authentic cuisine in an intimate setting. The restaurant interior is stylishly decorated with black glass table tops and a dark parquet floor complemented with vivid splashes of red, while staff members are friendly, quietly attentive and attractively dressed in crimson mandarin collar uniforms. The menu offers a wide selection of classic Chinese dishes, including dim sum, barbequed suckling pig and roasted Peking duck, as well as more exotic concoctions for the adventurous palate, such as steamed chicken feet with chilli sauce, Mexican abalone, Japanese scallops, and fish maw in rich broth. Prices are on the high side, but the quality of the cuisine makes the spend well worth it.
