Cheryl, Lindy, Elizabeth and Michelle are all expatriate women from Zimbabwe and England who have lived in Chiang Mai for many years.
The idea for the May Ball began in 2002 stemming from their desire to encourage the international community to give to worthy Thai charities within Chiang Mai.
There are few organised charity events held on behalf of the expatriate community and this annual ball hopes to raise much needed interest in some little known causes.
All women have children attending a local international school and their focus in each year’s choice of charity has been on the needs of less privileged children.
This is also a rare opportunity in Chiang Mai for the expatriate community to get dressed up and have a stylish evening of dancing, wining and dining.
