The "May Ball", a formal dinner dance function, will be held in aid of Le Refuge. This charity is a special home that houses, educates, councils and nurtures young girls who have been sexually abused in their own homes. The girls range in age from three to twelve years old. At present there are thirteen girls in the home, but by May it will have grown to twenty-eight and they are in desperate need of another vehicle. We are hoping to raise enough money to assist them in their incredible effort in giving these children a second chance for a happy and healthy life. Because of the nature of the pain that these children have suffered, the Thai government gives only very little recognition to the home in the way of funds, and having visited the home ourselves we feel that the international community of Chiang Mai would do well to support the amazing work that is being done for these children.
In view of the above, we would be most appreciative if you could see your way to helping us to buy tickets for the Ball. We would also like to place on record that any donation received would be much appreciated and we would welcome the opportunity to thank doners personally at our Banquet Ceremony.
Please be assured of our appreciation for your assistance in our effort to ensure that Le Refuge is adequately prepared for the growth of their home. The children from Le Refuge will be attending our Banquet in order to have the opportunity to show their personal appreciation for all donations made.
