Immigration Visits

Time and time again foreigners are told two things when visiting immigration. 1) Dress fairly smart, and 2) Be patient. So why is it that every time you go to immigration there are plenty of people there dressed in beach wear shouting at officials?  You may not be a conformist but if you want a smooth time at immigration you may want to follow the advice. You won't make them bend the rules for you, so even if you're just one day late don't bother whining, just pay the fine. It can be frustrating, annoying, expensive, but even so try and get through your time there without losing your temper, if you do lose your temper you will most likely be put at the back of the queue. To help matters you may also want to take a pen, copies of your passport photo and visa pages, enough money to pay for visas or fines (try and take the right change), a book to read while you wait, a Thai friend if you want things explained to you clearly.
