| Thailand has a plethora of little, and large, bugs and reptiles that can do you some damage. Most dangerous snakes thankfully live mostly in the jungle although a few do get into our gardens. Don't approach or back any snake into a corner, most snakes will go on their own accord if you leave them. If you do get bitten then go to the hospital and try to describe what the snake looked like; there are anti-venoms available. The centipede, which you will definitely come across, has a painful bite but nothing that will cause too much distress. Small kids should be taken to a doctor. The large black scorpions we get in CM aren't too bad either, just give you a swollen mark and some pain. The best thing you can do is to rub some insect bite cream on your hand. |
